Kieran Dagny Townsend

Age and Physical Description

Standing at six foot one, Kieran is 28 years old and possessing of deep soulful brown eyes that act like a black hole pulling anyone who happens to glance into them in. He has silken dark chocolate hair that he prefers to wear longer and sometimes places back in a ponytail. His body is limber and adapted through training to be quick.

Personality

He appears to be a quiet reserved person upon first glance, however, he is anything but when he learns more about the person he is studying or learns enough that he doesn‘t mind expressing himself. He is very quirky and does many of an unusual thing that may seem peculiar. Possibly even more stranger than that is that even though he is “odd” he still manages to blend in or not be overly noticed by the wrong people.

He likes to sing and this in itself is one of his quirks because he will break into song at the most inappropriate of times. As for other inappropriate things, he also likes to philosophize about life and death and will inappropriately wedge his philosophies into a conversation as well…sometimes when he is holding a gun to someone else’s head.

He digs poetry and will quote it sometimes upon first meeting someone new and he has a penchant for chocolate and all things velvet which is unexplainable to even him.

Other then his peculiarities and the profession he fell into, he is actually a quiet nice guy and can be a sentimentalist when someone stumbles across something he is sentimental about.

History

Kieran grew up pretty much fatherless in a small creepy town located in southwest Virginia that he will never be caught dead talking to any living person about. Therein he grew up in an eldritch Victorian house where he lived with his half sister and his widowed mother who remarried a man who always preferred to ignore his existence. His mother had Cherokee in her blood and is from whom he gets his swarthy features, but not his stark in comparison skin color or rather lack of which was contributed from his Irish papa who he has no memories of past the age of six because his father died. Mr. Townsend as it was told to him had been killed in a car crash when he went to visit his parents across seas, but little Kieran continuously wondered if that was what really happened. There is an urn of his father’s supposed ashes which Kieran actually keeps with him in the present day.

His childhood was rather normal, or at least normal for a kid who didn’t talk to much and who other kids thought was weird, normal other than he grew up in the supposed haunted house on the block and everyone in town claimed his mother was a witch because she entertained others by telling fortunes.

In high school Kieran was pretty much a loner and spent a lot of time with his nose in old literature and sketching in class. Cemeteries happened to be his favorite place to hang out after school with the few kindred spirited friends he had who just so happened to not go to his school. Scoring high on his SAT’s he was to his surprise pursued by the federal government and employed after he graduated high school by the FBI with the stipulation that he attend college while being put through immense training and remains present day.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:He is very observant and clever for someone who hasn‘t had much of a formal higher education that didn't revolve around police stuff. He is both quick and quiet on his feet as well as mentally swift and possessing of an uncanny ability of being stealthy. An example of his uncanny stealth is that he finds himself often times walking up upon an unsuspecting with no intention of scaring the bejesus out of them and still scares them pallid. He is very dedicated to his work.

Weaknesses:He has few connections in the world other than a select few people who ever live hours away or those he works closely with. Outside of what he does for a living he often times wonders what else there is to life if anything at all? His quirky sense of humor and quirkiness in general often estrange others . Probably needless to say that he does not do well in the relationship department.

General Deity History

Thanatos was the Greek god of Death who resided in Hades. He was depicted as both a bearded black robed man whom no mortal really wanted to meet and a striking winged youth with a torch who would show you the way to the afterlife. His parents were said to be Nyx and Erebos or possibly only Nyx and he had a whole slew of siblings including a twin brother called Hypnos whose nature was similar to his own, but not as long lasting. His most notable myths involve his capture by Sisphysus who tried to escape death and succeeded on a few occasions but not altogether before winding up in Hades and being punished horribly for his crimes against the gods and then there was Thanatos’ conflict with Apollo which lead to an altercation with Hercules over the impending death of the woman Alcestis. Death apparently doesn’t like to feel robbed.

Other Pertinent Info: He knows something isn’t quite right with him. There are strange things going on with him, such as he can almost “feel it” when someone is going to die or something is not going to go down right which he chalks up to intuition, but he isn’t entirely sure that is all it is. He even scares himself sometimes when he looks at someone and just knows.
